I wrote this song in honor of my friend Christy who was born with Down Syndrome. I met her thirty years ago when I was her music therapist. We worked together for a year and have been best friends ever since. Christy is going to be 52 in February. When I met her, she was twenty-one. I realize how much I've learned from Christy. Her brain doesn't allow her to doubt or judge. I have never heard her complain or speak negatively about anyone or anything. She's in the present moment when she's with you with her full attention, her heart, and soul. Christy has taught me so much about love and happiness. She makes happy look so easy. We can learn so much from people with Down Syndrome. This song is in honor of my dear friend Christy and an homage to all people who are born with Down Syndrome.
